Scarlett City Jacket
The Hmong are an ancient tribe of mountain people who migrated from China in the mid 19th century in search of freedom and a land of their own. Many of the Hmong migrated to the mountainous regions of Laos, Thailand and Vietnam. The word Hmong means “free”.
Fine needlework has always been a source of great pride to Hmong women. Brightly colored embellishments on traditional clothing created for celebrations. Cross stitch, embroidery and batik as well as other techniques are used to create these wearable works of art.
Made with handwoven, hand handdyed fabric and cotton, the Scarlett City jacket is collected from the hill tribe Hmong community. One of a kind only.
